PRODUCT REVIEW: LUMINESCE ULTIMATE LIFTING MASQUE

If you’re a regular reader of my blog you’d know that I absolutely love the products from Luminesce, so when I was asked to trial the Luminesce ultimate lifting masque* I happily accepted. But then I moved house, and well moved into a holiday house for a few weeks, before moving house, and well, then we moved house again, so yep, we are now in the fourth house this year since February, talk about exhausting! And in between all the mess of moving, things just got a little ‘lost’ between all the boxes. But luckily the house we are in now is big enough to leave a whole three bedrooms as storage area with all our unopened boxes which will stay that way until we will finally move into our newly built house sometime next year. But it has also meant that we’ve been managed to sort through and re-arrange some boxes, so I finally managed to find my missing box of ‘blogging stuff’, so without further delay, here are my thoughts on the Luminesce Ultimate Lifting Masque;

What They Say:
Luminesce ultimate lifting masque combines the natural powers of tara and chicory root to instantly lift and hydrate skin. Designed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, this masque is bolstered by a patent-pending stem cell technology exclusive only to Jeunesse.

RRP: $76.95 (118ml) - Available from Luminesce

What I Say:

This facial mask contains botanicals from the forest of the Andes, which bind to the skin’s surface and produce an instant lift while distributing moisture fundamental to skin repair.

It gently exfoliates dead skin cells, while helping to revitalise and nourish the skin.

The mask has the following benefits:

  • Instantaneously lifts while providing long-term hydration
  • Deeply nourishes to produce supple skin and smooth wrinkles
  • Contains special blends of vitamins and antioxidants
  • Effectively diminishes the appearance of ageing
  • Contains cucumber extract to soften skin
  • Cleans all skin types and removes top layer of dead skin to help revitalise appearance
  • Gently expels bacterial contaminants like blackheads and blemishes
  • Tightens and firms skin

The mask has the consistency of a thin gel mask that you spread thinly over the skin, leaving it on for 15-20 minutes to dry. Hereafter you peel off the mask and rinse your face with warm water before applying your usual serum and moisturiser.

The mask contains among others cucumber extract to help provide the skin with long lasting hydration as well as a blend of vitamins to enrich the skin and diminish the appearance of age spots. It also contains a growth factor complex to help restore the skin’s natural luminosity

And as soon as I’ve peeled off the mask, washed and dried my face, I can both see and feel the difference. The mask has clearly removed all dead skin cells, and my skin is left incredibly soft and smooth and with a nice healthy glow. My pores seem to be tightened and blemishes seem minimised. However, I am not sure that I can see that that my pigmentation has faded or that fine lines and wrinkles have been smoothed out, but I can tell that my skin is deeply hydrated and consequently it does look plumper and therefore more youthful. And used regularly, once or twice per week as recommended, I do feel that I can tell that my skin in general does look healthier and more glowing, as if I’ve just come back from a relaxing holiday or have had the best night’s sleep ever.

At $76.95 for a 118ml tube, this is definitely one of the more expensive face masks that I’ve ever tried. But having said that, the mask is very concentrated so it will give you countless of treatments, plus, the effects are not just instant, the ingredients work to improve the condition of your skin long-term, so if you like me are concerned with anti-ageing, then you’ll love this mask, I know I’m in love!!!
